Ghana-based Nigerian artiste, Oduma Essan believes it’s high time Kumai Eugene was held responsible for using the works of other artists or content creators without consent.
According to him, he has no personal problems with the Lynx Entertainment prodigy but believes he is fond of stealing the works of others and making them his without seeking the appropriate proprietory permission.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Doreen Avio of Joy FM, Oduma Essan said he has monitored Kuami Eugene for a long time and has realized that he is very keen on sampling the works of others and garnishing them to make them his.
According to him, he believes Kuami Eugene’s consistent stealing of the works of other artistes needs to be stopped and believes the court will rule in his favour.
“I have been in this country for a long time now, I know what is going on in the system. I have seen all artistes but the way Kuami Eugene is doing his kind of music, that is not how it is done.
“Nobody does that. Which artiste in Ghana is doing this kind of perpetual attitude Kuami Eugene is doing? This is the time to put a stop to this bullshit,” he said on Let’s Talk Showbiz.
Remember, Oduma Essan has sued Kuami Eugene for alleged song theft. He is demanding GH¢120,000 because he believes the “Wish Me Well” stole his lyrics for his “Showbody” track off the “Son Of Africa Album”.
